Volunteer Renovators & Team Leaders Required

Community Carrot Store Renovations -Volunteers Needed

We’re close to signing a lease and expect to be announcing our new location by end of September 2013. Major renovations will be required to our venue before we can move in. Work is likely to begin very early in October.

While we’ll have some professional contractors involved, the more that we can accomplish with skilled volunteers the more money we’ll save for important stuff like food in our store.

So if you have skills and are interested in being a volunteer for this short but intense building renovation process, please let us know of your interest & availability. Send an e-mail to volunteers@communitycarrot.coop. Don’t forget to let us know when you’re available and for how much time you can contribute for scheduling purposes.

Here’s a short list of the skills we’re looking for:

-Licensed electrician, plumber and/or HVAC individuals

-Skilled carpenters, flooring installers, drywallers

-Enthusiastic demolition folks, not afraid to get dirtyd.

-An individual with CAD (eg Google Sketchup)  design skills to support us in creating store layout design drawings, etc.

Please note that as much as we’d love your assistance, your safety is critical to us. You’ll need to show up with heavy duty footwear, work gloves, jeans and long sleeved shirt/sweater. This is a lean operation so you’ll also need to have your own hammer, saw, drill or other construction equipment as arranged with our Construction Team Leader.

    • Hi Judy – This is my first time on the Carrot website in some time. I’m assuming that you’ve connected with Leslie. Send me a direct e-mail if you need anything in a hurry ’cause I usually rely on a volunteer or our Intern to access the website these days. Gwen

  1. Hi all. I’ve got PPE and spare time during the evenings after work. I’d love to help out in any capacity. I work just down the road.

    • Hi Justin – Thanks for connecting. I’ve forwarded this message along to Leslie Reinhart, our Volunteer Coordinator who’ll be in touch shortly. We definitely do have volunteer openings and would love to have you on our team. Cheers. Gwen

    • Hi John – Sorry for the delay responding; it’s been crazy since our big announcement. If you can send an e-mail to volunteers@communitycarrot.coop with your details, our Volunteer Coordinator, Leslie Reinhart will connect with you. I’m just in the process of revising our Project Plan now that we have a firm date for when we can begin renovations and we expect to have a better idea of our needs in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for connecting and for your interest in volunteering. We sure do need much help! Cheers, Gwen
